June 20, 2126 - A human piloted SAM-608 conducts a routine maintenance inspection of electronic components on the DSVLA (Deep Space Very Large Amplifier) “Pollux”. Located 10 AU away from Earth and over 300 meters in diameter the DSVLA Pollux is a Mk 7H signal amplifier - it receives long distance transmissions from vessels near the outer rim of the solar system and greatly amplifies the signals on their way back to Earth. They are designed to run fully automated but require human initiated inspections every 10 years
